I’m literally obsessed with today’s iced coffee recipe.
ALMOND MILK ICE CUBES.
I feel like I’m an actual genius for discovering this little iced coffee trick. I know, I didn’t invent almond milk ice cubes (they pretty much saturate my Pinterest feed) but I did put my own little spin on it to totally spice up my morning coffee.
Drinking coffee only recently became part of my morning routine and I CAN’T GET ENOUGH. I’ve even become educated on all the different definitions and types of coffee after my very frequent 5:00 AM runs to Coffee Bean before work.
SO FREAKING EARLY, I know.
But in efforts to save money and to not be so lazy, I started making my own coffee every morning and these almond milk ice cubes take it to a whole new level. I pop 4 or 5 into some coffee I made the night before (or Stumptown cold brew from Whole Foods) and let them melt.
Almond milk ice cubes keep the coffee really cold or you can put them in hot coffee to cool it down to the temperature that you like.
So here’s how you make them:
- Almond Milk
- Vanilla extract
- Ice cube tray
- In a bowl, whisk all the ingredients except the coffee.
- Mix until all the spices are evenly mixed through the almond milk.
- Pour the mixture into the ice cube trays and freeze over night.
- Add a few almond milk ice cubes to your AM coffee and enjoy!!
Seriously, the possibilities are endless.
You can pretty much add any spices and flavorings you like. Pumpkin spice, stevia, nutmeg, ginger, I mean anything. During the holiday season, I saturate my coffee with pumpkin spice. HA. I’m so basic it’s not even funny.
You can also use a different milk base if almond milk isn’t your thing. I’ve tried it with coconut milk before too! But you can make it totally simple and go with plain milk also.
I mean…how AMAZING are almond milk ice cubes?! The best iced coffee trick, for sure.
How do you spice up your morning coffee? Any new flavorings I should add to my ice cubes?
