As you probably know, I’m a huge fan of strength training (i.e lifting weights). It makes me feel powerful and strong and like a nothing can stop me. But what’s new?
It’s definitely a challenge for me to fit time for working out in my schedule sometimes. And if it’s challenging for me (someone who literally works at a gym every day), I know it’s hard for those of you who have full-time jobs or are in school.
On top of that, I find it very difficult to figure out how active I was throughout the day, workout or no workout. So I bought a Fitbit awhile back hoping that this might be the solution & it was a serious game changer.
The Fitbit turned me into this competitive person, which I liked. But the funny thing is, I was only competitive with myself. HA. Like I would always try to exceed my step count from the day before or burn more calories in a workout than the set goal. The Fitbit also measures how long & how well you sleep so I always made sure to “win” by getting 7 hours every night. It was kind of a fun game I was playing with myself & it got me really motivated to get moving (or to sleep more. LOLz.).
Funny story: Sean and were going to see a movie and there were two parking lots, one right in front of the theater and the other one was a parking garage across the street. I made him park in the parking garage so we could walk more because I NEEDED to meet my step goal for the day. He was not happy. Whoops!
After having the Fitbit, I really saw the benefit of having a fitness watch/activity tracker. So I want to give a Fitbit to one of you!
Today, I’m giving away a Fitbit Charge HR in black to one lucky winner! This fitness watch is awesome for a couple of reasons: 1) It’s not bulky and you can accessorize it with other jewelry really well. 2) It’s water resistant so it can withstand the sweatiest of workouts & you don’t have to take if off when you shower. 3) The battery life last 5 days. 4) The features include a steps counter, active minutes, sleep analysis, workout summaries, & heart rate monitoring. 5) The best part? I’m giving it away for FREE.

So let’s address these not-so-typical-me pics, shall we?
I’m not a very edgy person, like AT ALL. But a few weeks back I worked with a photographer on some video footage and we decided to play around with the camera & some lighting and well, here we are.
This entire process kind of took me out of my comfort zone & forced me into trying something new, or really, trying a new look. But it was so good for me.
I think it’s so important to put yourself in new and different situations that you’re not used to because that’s where personal growth comes from. If I had never walked into a weight room and decided to ask the nicest/least intimidating girl what the heck I was supposed to do with a barbell, I would not be where I am today.
WELL. That’s my little life lesson tidbit of the day. It’s a good one, no?
Remember, the giveaway ends in 7 days so don’t waste any time & enter!
