After a weekend full of spending time with/annoying my family, I’m right back into the swing of things today. My flight got in after midnight last night so I’m currently RUNNING ON FUMES. My morning routine was not exactly on point today, to say the least.
Coffee is definitely getting me through.
In other news, I’m about to start my training for a triathlon AND a Tough Mudder. If you don’t know what a Tough Mudder is, it’s basically a very long obstacle course. In the mud. I can’t decide if I’m looking forward to it or not.
And if you don’t know what a triathlon is, stop living under a rock. LOL.
There’s going to be a lot of running involved while I train for both events, which I’m sorta dreading a lot because running is not my strong suit. I’d much rather be inside on the stair master with my A/C and Netflix. So, I’m totally stepping out of my comfort zone here.
I did a triathlon last summer and I totally nailed the swimming and the biking, but when it came time to run, my body almost refused. Clearly I didn’t prepare well enough for that leg of the race.
This time, I’m doing it a little bit differently.
I’m starting my training earlier and I’m making it a goal to actually RUN MORE. And I mean outside/under the sun type running. No more of this treadmill nonsense. So over it. I literally have zero excuses not to run outside because Los Angeles is the definition of sunny & beautiful. So I’ll definitely never get bored running with all the pretty trails here!
But if I’m being honest, the one thing that motivates me most is new running clothes. I’m absolutely obsessed with activewear in general, but adidas running is getting me pumped to train.
Adidas kindly sent me some of their most recent running additions and I can’t get enough!
First of all, everything is so flattering. I literally can’t stop staring at my butt in these leggings because they are magic. They hold everything in without giving you a muffin top (What did I tell ya? Magic!) and they don’t chafe when you run. Perfect combo of comfort and support. Plus they are insulated just enough to keep you warm when it’s cold, but you’re not left drenched in sweat.
TBH I’m most excited about the part where I look like I have a butt when I wear them. HAHA.
All of adidas running wear is reflective, too, which is so important for running at night. I’m definitely not a fan of being hit by a car at 9 PM. It would really put a damper on my training, ya know?
What I’m digging most, though, is definitely THESE SHOES. I’m somewhat of a tennis shoe snob these days, but the adidas Ultra Boost made the cut for sure. I have pronated feet & a high arch which is like the worst combo ever.
My luck, right?
So finding running shoes that work for me can be kind of a hassle. Ultra Boost is both supportive and comfortable so it makes running easier on my ankles! Plus, I mean they’re so cute, no?
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I’m so excited to start running in my new clothes! I’ll definitely keep y’all up to date on my training status. And I’ll definitely be running to the new HH|HH playlist! Have you checked it out yet? Let me know what you think, I love getting your feedback!
Okay your turn, what’re some of your current fitness goals? What motivates you to reach them?
Share, share, share!!
